HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal is a Swiss non-governmental organization actively contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of poor and disadvantaged people in Nepal.

The Employment Fund – Skills for Reconstruction (extended phase) is a project funded by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal so as to address the burning need of reconstruction of the country after the earthquake of 2015. It mainly supports the Government of Nepal in producing construction sector human resources with earthquake resilient skills. Skills for Reconstruction also aims to provide technical assistance (engineering support) to the affected homeowners and facilitate NRA Engineers for inspection of reconstructed houses and release tranches in time. The Project invites applications from Nepali citizens for the following position:

Position:  Programme Officer (1 position)

Job Purpose: 

The position is overall responsible for the communication, knowledge management and reporting related roles ensuring gender sensitivity and social inclusion in the project in close coordination and guidance of Team Leader.

• Take lead in designing, implementing and monitoring of women specialized trainings component under EF-SR and ensure that target output and outcomes are achieved on time
• Take a lead on drafting periodic reports collecting required periodic data, photos and case stories of EF-SR in close coordination with cluster team of the project
• Ensure an adequate communication, outreach and knowledge management system of the project in close collaboration with the thematic group of HELVETAS Nepal
• Work as a focal person of the project for Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI)

Reporting to:  Team Leader

Required Education, Experiences and Social Competence:

• Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Science, and Business Management or in any relevant discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in Project/Programme implementation and report writing as well as communications and outreach strategies. Experiences in Gender and Social Inclusion programme for development organizations will be additional advantages. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion and poverty reduction.

Duty Station: Kathmandu Office with 60% travel to field offices at Palikas of Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap and Khotang

Duration: Till the project period (June 2020)
