Success Story – Ms. Sanch Lamhu Sherpa

“Everybody likes cleanliness”

Life Before Training

I am from a very poor family who is constantly fighting for subsistence. My life has always been very difficult. Due to the still widespread believe that girls do not have to go to school, I never attended any classes. I used to work at the household in our family. However, I was searching for an opportunity that would allow me to earn an income in order to improve my life. A relative of mine told me about the free-of-cost housekeeping training.

After the training, I am not doing different things, but only doing the things differently.

My Gainful Employment After Training

I was highly enthusiastic during the training and thus got a lot of support from my teacher. After the training, I found a job with the same house owners, where I spent my on-the-job training. I am earning more than 3,000 Rupees per month. Currently, I am still living at a women’s hostel but with my new income, I am confident that I will be able to find a rented room for myself.

Age: 18; Attended one and half months training in Housekeeping. Training & job placement support by Global Academy of Tourism & Hospitality Education, Kathmandu, Tel: 01-4376048
